Danny DuBois
Career
I am currently the Manager of Social Media at Taylor Morrison, the 5th largest homebuilder in the United States. I direct the social-content strategy, manage all paid-social campaigns, and liaise with our company’s agency of record to support the other paid-media channels (search, display, programmatic).
Prior to starting at Taylor Morrison in 2021, I served as Social Advertising Director at Investis Digital where I managed the team responsible for campaign ideation, creative development, and paid execution across social platforms. When I started there back in 2013, I was one of the first 25 employees of the full-service digital marketing agency then called ZOG Digital. There, I helped facilitate the growth of a best-in-class social media offering (working with brands like Pep Boys, Hotwire, and Krave Jerky) until we were acquired by Investis in October of 2017, and ultimately rebranded as Investis Digital. By the end of 2018, managed social media spend for the company had increased 159% YoY under my leadership. That upward trajectory continued through 2019 where we saw 67% growth in managed social media spend and eclipsed an $11M social ad mark as we added a diverse range of brands (including Kendra Scott, Smashburger, and CymaBay Therapeutics) to an evolving client roster. In my final year at Investis Digital (2020), my team managed a record $14.6M in social ad spend.
Expertise
Without a doubt, Facebook (and its family of apps including Instagram) is the most widely used social network. Daily usage on its platforms, along with the diverse ad products and robust targeting capabilities available towers in comparison to other social channels. For those reasons, Facebook advertising has been my area of focus throughout my career (though I have enough experience in other channels to be dangerous). My work in social content and advertising has earned recognition in Adweek, Mashable, The Davey Awards, The Stevie Awards, and The Communicator Awards, among others.
Being on the agency side for so long gained me extensive experience with a wide array of industries including ecommerce, CPG, restaurant (multi location), and medical. The client growth I led through 2020 culminated in the agency I worked for becoming a Preferred Marketing Partner with Facebook, which granted us advanced access to exclusive tools and resources. Through that partnership, I’ve worked extensively with Facebook directly (including agency reps, industry-specific reps, and marketing-science teams) to help foster innovation and revenue success for the brands I’ve worked with.
While I’m a peer-proclaimed Facebook advertising expert, I’m also a student of the industry with the self awareness to admit that “expert” is not absolute. After all, as the late, great, legendary UCLA coach John Wooden once said, “it’s what you learn after you know it all that really counts.“
Personal
I’m from the Bay Area originally, but went to school at UCLA where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in art history. After school, I moved out to the Phoenix area for work (I also wanted to escape the high cost of living in California and start my career someplace unfamiliar).
While I’m fortunate enough to do what I love in my career, marketing/advertising isn’t the only thing that I love. When I’m not cheering on my Bruin sports teams, I enjoy drinking cheap beer while playing golf, trying to shoot a score lower than the Arizona summertime temperature. I live in Scottsdale with my girlfriend and our Golden Retriever, Bogey (an ode to my golf game). Roller coasters, Jameson Whiskey and ginger beer, camping, country music concerts, and tailgating at the Rose Bowl also top my list of favorite things. I like sugar-free energy drinks and trying to stay active (two potentially correlated enjoyments). I get a kick out of crafty projects like painting and graphic design, and enjoy weekend excursions to new places. I like to write (mostly marketing-related blogs), listen to true crime podcasts, and could live off of Taco Bell (extra nacho cheese please!). Grilling meats makes me happy year round, and I get down with friendly competition (bowling, darts, billiards, bags… you name it!). Most of my friends call me Doobie (thanks to my last name, I swear), and I try to surround myself with other high-energy, positive people. Cheers!

Clients
While these are some of the most recognizable brands I’ve worked with, I also have worked with many you probably haven’t heard of, and their stories are often just as interesting. Ask me about them too!
